I maintain postions in UA in both this portfolio and my real portfolio. They have maintained greats growth in sales, and are starting to step into the footware market which should allow it to maintain growth rates for the next few years.
Kipplinger has and intersting take as well and reflects why I bought into this stock. http://www.kiplinger.com/columns/picks/archive/2008/pick0602.htm

where is this growth coming from?
According to their chart, they seem to have been lagging for the past year and currently at a 52 week low.
Personally I need a lot of good news to invest in consumer luxury product. It's the same story with Sketchers (SKX) and Crocs (CROX) both have been going down hill in a major way.
Launching a footwear line can be a threat to the bottom line, not necessarily an opportunity.

In my opinion you should sell this stock right away.UA has been having decelerating earnings for at least the past two quarters.
THe stock is way off its high.
Furthermore, they will be venturing into very expensive trainers
at exactly the wrong time.
Most people will not have the money to pay for$100.00 sneakers. THe US economy is down the toilet. People are having a hard time just paying for gas and food.
This one is a bad bet and I suggest that you sell this one ASAP and find something else to invest your money in.

UA and CROX are great if you want to lose money. Why do you own two companies in the same sector??THey move in tandem. Looks to me like both are in a down cycle.

I'm with the others on this, IT.
These days you've gotta be insane to bet on a fashion trends to make you money, especially in view of the alternative red hot energy and raw materials sectors. All it takes is a less than successful marketing campaign or a continuance of this shitty economy and UA will slide huge.
Crocs? isn't that that rubber slipper that used to be cool?

Yeah, i with you guys. It's a local company and I got caught up in the local press saying it was going to be next Nike. I have sold my positions, but will continue to watch and may get back in when the economy strenthens

glad we managed to change your mind. I think fashion, luxury and all other "extras" targeting the US market should be put on hold.. if you're going to invest in consumer goods I suggest Proctor and Gamble (PG) as a well run relatively safe bet.
