Another stellar season for Chesapeake energy. 35% up since the beginning of the year.. as if the market never slumped. You gotta love this company.. or rather you should own it.
With the largest natural gas reserves in the US and the world for that matter CHK is a milking cow for the next decade, and it doesn't pollute the environment so legislation is turning towards nat gas.

Yes, it looks like after so many years of struggling, CHK is taking off. It will not be the next Exxon. CHK is a nat. gas co.
it is not an integrated oil co. like Exxon.
It is domestic and not international. As long as nat. gas stays high like it is now, it will be good but watch out below if nat.
gas prices start to drop.

My assumption is that LNG (liquid natural gas) is the oil of the future. Chesapeake will be well positioned to own the drilling, distribution and sale of the new "black gold". For this reason I'm crowning CHK a possible next exxon.. I think there may be a short term decline in Gas prices but long term, with legislative backing, natural gas will heat more homes and power more industry than oil or coal.
