The Sun Also Rises??

During these dark days does anyone out there believe or envision that what we might be seeing here is a much larger replay of the events of 1987 and that following this analogy we will see the not so quiet start of a major world bull market led by new technology and organization sometime at the end of 09 or beginning of 2010?
This post is more than 60 days old. Replying to it might be confusing for other members reading the discussion.
By all means, keep the ball rolling and post a new opinion.

As the sun sets so does it eventually rise. The question always is, how long is the night in between? I do recall back in '87 there were some bond issues with extraordinary yields of 11% - 12%, IIRC. I'm waiting!

Technically it seems like the market bottom may be about 10% lower than current, at around 800 points for the S&P.
I think November will mark the turning point, after the US elections and the reports season end.

Well, perhaps. But don't forget the Christmas buying season. Retailers stand to have a terrible time of it and their stock prices will reflect their waining fortunes. I'd give it into the new year.
