News that SunPower will build 2 solar plants in Florida sent the share 15% up.
From reuters:"SunPower will build the largest U.S. photovoltaic solar power plant in Florida for FPL (Florida Power & Light). The 25-megawatt plant, which will be located in DeSoto County and completed in 2009, will use SunPower's technology that tilts the solar modules to track the sun as it moves across the sky.
SunPower will also build a 10-megawatt solar power plant for FPL at the Kennedy Space Center that will be completed in 2010."
Get it? SPWR is building a solar power plant for NASA. If they are good enough for NASA they are good enough for me.
I Bought SPWR a while ago, and although they plunged with all the rest of the market, I still think it's a great investment.

Hey, WFR (MEMC) is also in Florida, just right around the corner - I wonder if they will sell them the wafers.. We'll give them a nice discount and a smaller shipping fee..

If I see such a P/E on a micro cap, I can stomach it - but on a 6 bill capper?.. that's one heck of a show of faith..
The company netted a mellow 9 million dollars in 2007..
