I own Google and love the company. I agree that they are a great long term play. I didn't add anything to my position because it's something I don't do but would recommend GOOG be 5% of anyones portfolio. With the pending sale of Yahoo to MSFT this is great news for Google cuz the one thing you can bank on in the technology business is that Microsoft will screw up anything they touch... so expect Yahoo to loose much more of their advertising market share... of course Google will gain from that.
With a p/e of 46 that is a bit pricey in this market, me thinks. Just like AAPL had a big correction coming, I think goog is now being priced back into fair value. Hard to justify 40 p/e when investors are jumping at every little rustle in the bushes. Great company, yes, but to me that's not relevant; it's the state of the company versus their stock price that matters. hence why I was happy to buy AMD even though they have had the worst imaginable year.

Don't you guys think it looks like a buy opportunity now for Google (long term investment) as its last close value is getting near $500?
At the end Google is a stable company with strong roots at the market.
