Riteaid RAD MSFT
Started Jul 16 2008 at 6:57PM (EST) (By 770allboz)
I am new in here and was just wondering if Rite Aid would go up because of refinancing? I believe they also bought out Eckerds a little while ago. With the baby boomers coming in the senior citizens age wouldnt the drug market be going up?So why is there stock only $1.42 a share?
Also Microsoft is announcing there earnings tommorrow, I believe this will make there shares to increase rapidly. I would appreciate all opinions on this. Thanks

Microsoft's chart isn't going anywhere for the past 7 years. Up a little, than down a little, but amounts to nothing in the long run. I wouldn't go into MSFT as a long term position. If you think you can ride the earnings for a quick buck and bail that's another story.

770 - I was researching that last night as well. Haven't done my DD yet but it's a very interesting proposition. Lots of insider buying going on as well. I would focus on management team and what's new or not. You're right about baby boomers. But will mail delivery of scripts become more common?
As for MSFT -- what Kohalza said.

MSFT may be putting in an important low today. The line is the sand is $25. You can be bullish against that stop loss.

Why would anyone want to invest in a 1 product monopoly that has failed to duplicate Windows success in 15 years of trying, who are hated by all, beat up by open standards - open office - Google documents - Gmail - iPod... there is nothing to indicate any growth from Microsoft.. just a pile of cash. Instead of buying Adobe (ADBE) and VMware (VMW) they are looking to spend tons of money for a web site (Yahoo, YHOO) that's main revene source is banner advertising, that is dying quickly (see ad-network reports from this week).. ???

I think the connection between baby boomers retiring and a the success of a drugstore chain is a bit slim.. Yes, Americans will be buying more meds but that doesn't mean you can run a bad outfit..
Negative profit margins (-4.75%), no cash, huge debt - what's the story here? I'm sure I must be missing something..
My baby boom play is AMED... love it!

I see what you are saying, however i was just wondering why in the past few days 1.5 million shares have been bought up by insiders?? Is it a gamble or a sign of something to come??
