yum brands own KFC and pizza hut as well as other fast food restaurants.. so, what's so hot about fast food? nothing.... accept that the chineese people tend to be thin... and YUM is opening a restaurant a day in China. It's the fastest growing food retailer in China. China's middle class is going to be 400 million strong in a few years and what does the middle class like to do? get fat on saturated cheese and chemically treated chicken... hey, it's the western religion.. eat drink and get fat... Seems like a good defensive move for my portfolio.. people will always be hungry for cheap yukky food.
