don't you feel like buying indexes is not maximizing on your money's potential? I like your thinking on widening your stock exposure, I'm also running from the US companies... I like EMF - a closed fund specializing in Emerging Markets. EMF is run by the Tempelton group with a GURU chief.. still, I'll add EWY to my watchlist

true, i'm not maximizing my profits. I dont believe i have the time to pick and choose individual companies, so i rather focus on the macro level, assuming i can find the great deal there. perhaps i'm not meant to be a guru :)

assuming South Korea has still the potential to grow, while the prices there are releativly inexpensive, it seems like a better bargin than China is. on the same note, you might want to check out my exposure to IIF.

kinda risky? please define what does risk mean to you?
Emerging markets are risky? perhaps.
lack of transparency? communist country, with different rules for foreigners and locals?
some of which may apply to the greatest economies of the world. some of which, doesnt apply to IIF at all :)
