you have a point... Intel came out with a great piece of hardware in their new chip. I don't assume AMD's market share will drop to nothing but there is clearly something wrong with management and it's way of estimating revenue... I mean there is only one competitor and you still can't estimate your earnings? weird and unsettling, no doubt.
By all means buy INTC. The stock price is just about where it was 5 years ago. that's more or less for true for AMD although the volatility has been extreme.
That the stock didn't sink much on AMD's bad quarter and job cuts means it's pretty well bottomed out. A little good news (a quarter of profitability) and they might just climb to 9.
Naa... I can't even believe I bought AMD - I was banking on a major correction up, which doesn't seem to be happening.. I might just bail on the entire position and hey - if I never look at a chip maker again, I'll die a happy man.. hahah.. thanks Arawak, always insightful.
