If it's down more than a few percent check for news that would materially affect it. Timely look see can save you losses or give oportunity to add to position, depending on the reason for the decline (if there isn't one). If there's no reason apparent, keep an eye on it. If it doesn't recover after a day, sell.
Good rule: If it's not doing what you want it to, sell...Simple and effective!
