Enel CEO Sees 2008 Results Topping 2007

ROME -(Dow Jones)- Enel SpA (Milan:ENEL) (ENEL.MI) expects to report 2008 results higher than the previous year, while second-quarter results are predicted to be better than expected, the Italian utility's chief executive Fulvio Conti said Wednesday.

This year's results will be "superior" to those of last year, Enel CEO told reporters ahead of the shareholders' meeting in Rome to appoint the new board for a three-year term. He didn't give details.

Enel's (Milan:ENEL) Conti also said the company expects to sell its Italian high-tension power lines to Terna SpA (Milan:TRN) (TRN.MI), Italy's biggest electricity grid by capacity.

The CEO said he sees a fair value for the power lines at EUR1.6 billion to EUR1.7 billion.
