“Trade with the trend, but invest against it. „
I am a professional trader and investor. I am an amateur blog writer and publisher.
You can visit my blog at:http://themrktmaven.blogspot.com/
My goal is to deliver consistent, positive returns and outperform major market indexes (SPX or COMP) with less risk. That's what I do.
My investment philosophy is outlined below.
I generally don't do a lot of day trading or trade penny stocks. I occasionally use leveraged ETFs, but mostly to hedge my longs, since I can't really show my options or short trades on MG. I don't average down repeatedly when my losses start to pile up. Although there are exceptions, I try to exit losing positions after the loss exceeds 7%-10%.
Trade with the trend, but invest against it. I use a combination of tecnho-fundamentals. Nothing profound. I pick a theme and then find the best two or three companies that are highly leveraged to it. I research all of them and may buy a small 'basket' of three or four, usually using technical levels to help me find the best entry points.
I usually start buying on a down day, when everyone else is puking them, but would occasionally buy on an UP day, especially if coming off a very compressed oversold level.
I generally build position in thirds: 1/3 to start, and then 1/3 once on a pullback, and final 1/3, when it starts working in my favor. Of coarse, there are exceptions and sometimes I...
